Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search box is transmitted to the outside provider that operates the tool. That provider processes the query and supplies its results. Anderson County Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
Email messages are kept as needed to answer them. They remain within the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Page requests automatically provide standard technical and usage details, including:
- Your device’s IP address
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device category
- Pages viewed and time spent
- Any referring website
- Page-view dates and times
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that support traffic measurement, such as which pages receive visits and where sessions end. Analytics vendors aggregate those patterns. Browser controls can reject cookies, though disabling them may change how certain site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating and improving site performance
- Routing search requests to the selected partner
- Measuring which content visitors use
- Diagnosing errors and technical failures
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Anderson County Criminal History neither hosts nor sells a database of personal criminal records. It provides general directions to the Sheriff/Jail, local courts, Texas DPS Crime Records Division, and Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Public government records are governed by the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, while criminal-history dissemination limits appear in Government Code Chapter 411. Visitor information is not compiled into third-party records or consumer reports, and the site is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their own privacy policies govern submitted information, retention, and sharing. Review the selected provider’s terms before running a query because those practices are beyond this site’s control.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to government offices, courts, agencies, legal resources, or commercial tools. Once you leave, the destination’s privacy policy applies. Read it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Providers processing a search request
- Analytics vendors measuring performance
- Advertising networks serving site ads
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards protect collected data. No internet system is completely secure, however, so the site cannot guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor will be deleted.
Your Data Rights
Applicable Texas consumer-protection law, including the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act in Business and Commerce Code Chapter 17, may provide additional rights. Visitors may:
- Request access to personal information held about them
- Seek correction of inaccurate information
- Ask for deletion when applicable
- Opt out of certain processing where the law provides that choice
Updates to This Policy
Revisions will appear here with an updated effective date. Reviewing the policy periodically is the best way to track changes in these practices.
